Writing duo Ted Elliot and Terry Rossio, that same guys that brought us the ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ trilogy, are in final negotiations to bring the iconic Lone Ranger to the big-screen.
Jerry Bruckheimer and Disney are going to be working on the project together, just like they did for the Pirates movies. ‘The Lone Ranger’ began as a radio show in the 1930s which led to its becoming a popular TV show, many movies, comics and more.
“The hero’s origin story begins with a group of Texas Rangers chasing down a gang of outlaws led by Butch Cavendish. The gang ambushes the Rangers, seemingly killing them all. One survivor is found, however, by an American Indian named Tonto, who nurses him back to health. The Ranger, donning a mask and riding a white stallion named Silver, teams up with Tonto to bring the unscrupulous gang and others of that ilk to justice.”
The last movie with the Ranger in it was in 1981, which was a terrible failure and the lead actor never worked in Hollywood again.
Can the duo that brought us ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ successfully bring back ‘The Lone Ranger?’ Who would you like to see as the Ranger himself? Discuss below!
