We reported last week that Ian McKellen said he was ready to reprise his role as Gandalf for the upcoming Hobbit movies, as long as he and Peter Jackson had anything to do with it. Well Peter Jackson, director of ‘The Lord of the Rings’ trilogy, has stepped up to the directors seat for ‘The Hobbit’ and ‘The Hobbit 2.’ He plans on starting pre-production for these films soon, as he is currently working on ‘The Lovely Bones.’
This is probably some of the best news I have heard in a long time. Jackson truly captured the land of Middle Earth with his LOTR trilogy, and I knew that ‘The Hobbit’ wouldn’t have the same feel if Jackson wasn’t on board as director.
Are you glad Peter Jackson decided to direct ‘The Hobbit?’ Who would you have chosen as director instead of Jackson? Discuss below!
