Frank Miller Wants To Be Hard Boiled

Since first taking the leap into directing Sin City with Robert Rodriguez, Frank Miller has become infatuated with it. Miller likes directing so much, he has told MTV that he may just direct an adaptation of his comic Hard Boiled.

While I am only familiar with his Sin City novels, Hard Boiled sounds like it would be worth my time. It has been declared one of the most violent comic books ever created and follows Carl Seitz, an insurance investigator who unexpectedly discovers that he’s actually a cyborg named Nixon, a psychotic assassin/tax collector who’s also heralded as the future savior of the robot race.

Miller is currently directing The Spirit, which is an adaptation of Will Eisner’s comic. He told MTV that he wants no one else to direct Hard Boiled but himself.

“I’m in love with directing,” he gushed. “I’ve found a way to expand my career. Comics and directing are really two sides of the same coin. That’s what Robert Rodriguez taught me…good drama is good drama.”
