I Dream of Jeannie Remake Set For 2010?

After hearing about a remake of The Incredible Shrinking Man, I took it upon myself to do some research and see what other classics were to be remade in the next few years. I was surprised about a few (Logan’s Run, Dirty Dozen) and then there were some I wasn’t so surprised about.
Well, I Dream of Jeannie is one of the remakes I wasn’t surprised to see. Since Bewitched was remade a few years ago, I guess it was only a short time before Jeannie was remade. If you think I am making all of this up, check out the IMDB.com page yourself! Right now, there is no director set but Cormac Wibberley is writing the screenplay. He’s written things such as The Shaggy Dog and Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle. Going by that awesome resume, this should be one helluva movie!

Matthew Perry looks a lot like a young Larry Hagman, his comic timing would play well as Tony as he is a wonderful physical comic. Luke Wilson would make a perfect Dr. Bellows with his quiet demeanor and comic delivery. And Jeremy Piven always makes the perfect best buddy character and has excellent comic delivery. Kate Hudson…all I can say is she is a beautiful woman and makes the best choice for Jeannie.

Ricky Gervais or Eddie Izzard as Doctor Bellows Mathew Perry would be a great Major Nelson and as for Jeanie, How about Heather Graham?

Chris Pine would make a lovely Major Tony Nelson because he has that good boy ‘all american’ look. For Jeannie, a younger Jessica Simpson would be great. But if not, Kristen Bell is cute enough and could play her well.

after the horrible pathetic murder they did with Bewitched i dont think they should do thimovie. regardless of who is directing/producing it. classics like this SHOULDNT BE remade, just get them all to DVD in series and “made4tv” movies they did.
i also heard a rumor that they will be remaking “wonder woman”. the remake of “the bionic woman” was horrible!!! as well as the “new Knight Rider”!!!
why must HOLLYWOOD remake classics ? are they that bored? lack of talented writers, ideas????
WAKE UP HOLLYWOOD.. LEAVE THE CLASSICS ALONE!!!!!!

As DG said it, it will be Katherine Heigl that will be playing the roll of jeannie. It was anounced not to long ago.
