The first official trailer for the new kid’s movie The Smurfs has finally landed online. This big screen adaptation is coming from director Raja Gosnell (Beverly Hills Chihuahua) and stars Neil Patrick Harris, Jayma Mays, George Lopez, Alan Cumming, Paul Reubens, Kenan Thompson, Katy Perry and many others. “When the evil wizard Gargamel chases the tiny blue Smurfs out of their village, they tumble from their magical world and into ours — in fact, smack dab in the middle of Central Park. Just three apples high and stuck in the Big Apple, the Smurfs must find a way to get back to their village before Gargamel tracks them down.” Check out the trailer after the jump.
Sure, I may not be the target audience for the film, but I’m speechless as to how this trailer looks. I was never a huge fan of the TV show, but I can definitely say I won’t be a fan of the film. The Smurfs hits theaters on August 3, 2011. Stay tuned to If It’s Movies as we will bring you all of the Smurf news as it comes to us.
