More updates regarding Quentin Tarantino’s western DJANGO UNCHAINED

Early this morning we posted something about a twittered pic that was claiming to be the front page of the script of Quentin Tarantino’s newest movie. The image contained a piece of paper with “Django Unchained” written across it, and we learned today that that is indeed the title to Tarantino’s spaghetti Western.

Franco Nero, who has long been rumored as the lead star in the film, might be reprising his role from the 1966 film Django. If he’s not reprising the role, then Django Unchained has to be tied to that earlier film. Nero also dropped some names, including Keith Carradine, Christopher Waltz and Treat Williams, who he claims will star. Hit the jump to read a bit more on this project. Continue reading

Two new cast members added to THE HOBBIT including the recasting of Fili

Earlier this week Peter Jackson announced actor Rob Kazynski was leaving the production of The Hobbit: Part 1 and The Hobbit: Part 2 for personal reasons. His departing would leave the film without one of its main characters: Fili.

Well Jackson just updated his Facebook page with a note saying two new actors have joined the cast. One will replace Fili, and the other will play another pivotal role in the story. Dean O’Gorman is the lucky man who has been hired to play the role of Fili and actor Lee Pace has joined on to play the Elven King Thranduil. Hit the jump to read Jackson’s note from Fracebook. Mike Tyson’s tattoo artist sues THE HANGOVER PART II to stop the film’s release

Well this comes as no surprise. Actually, yes it does. You would have thought someone would have gotten the rights to use the tattoo shown on Ed Helm’s face throughout the duration of The Hangover Part II. S. Victor Whitmill, the award winning tattoo artist that designed the famous Mike Tyson tattoo, is asking for an injunction on the film to try and keep it from being released next month.

The artist has a good argument, seeing as he owns the rights to the tattoo and decides if it can or can’t be used for commercial use. Well it looks like someone at Warner Brothers didn’t do their homework and failed to acquire the rights to use that tattoo as it appears on Helm’s face. Hit the jump to read the most important information in a document THR received. Continue reading

R.L. Stine’s newest book It’s the First Day of School…Forever!, which hasn’t even been released yet, has been optioned to be turned into a major motion picture. Arnold Schwarzenegger will CRY MACHO

Just a few days ago we announced that Arnold Schwarzenegger would be returning to the classic Terminator series in a new film directed by Fast Five director Justin Lin. That is still the plan for the ex-Governator, but he will make a few stops on the way before we see him as an android once again. Vulture is reporting that Schwarzenegger has signed on to star in the drama Cry Macho which already has Brad Furman (The Lincoln Lawyer) attached to direct.

Cry Macho is based on the novel by N. Richard Nash which tells the story of “a damaged-goods horse trainer who’s just been ignominiously put out to pasture by his feckless boss. In exchange for some retirement money, the broken — and broke — horseman agrees to kidnap the boss’ 11-year-old son from his rich Mexican ex-wife. Things take an unexpected turn, however, when the ex-wife is all too glad to be rid of her juvenile delinquent.” Hit the jump to find out a bit more on the project. Continue reading

Is DJANGO UNCHAINED the title for Quentin Tarantino’s western?

We’ve known that Quentin Tarantino planned on doing a spaghetti western many years ago, but we found out just two months ago that he planned to tackle the wild west flick for his next project. We don’t know much about the film or what kind of path the story is going to take us. We do know that Christopher Waltz is going to star in the film and that Franco Nero and Keith Carradine are possible co-stars.

As for the title of the film, there was a rumor going around that it would be titled “The Angel, The Bad And The Wise” but that was quickly put to rest. Now we may have a new title to sink our teeth into. Continue reading

RISE OF THE PLANET OF THE APES story featurette

If you’re like me and felt the trailer for Rise of the Planet of the Apes was rather…lacking…maybe this new featurette will persuade you one way or the other. I just can’t seem to get excited for this film any way, shape or form. I don’t like the idea of genetically engineered monkeys rising up and taking over the world, regardless of how good the story may be.

But for those of you that can really let your imagination run wild, give this video a chance. You’ll see some footage that wasn’t included in the trailer, as well as a bit more on the film’s storyline. Hit the jump to see the featurette. Continue reading

THE HUNGER GAMES gets its District 5 actors

I imagine casting updates for The Hunger Games will continue for the next few weeks, so you better get used to the twice/thrice daily updates for the film. Fans of the book will know these two characters very well, especially the on called “Foxface.” The official Facebook page for the film updated its cast portion of the site with two new faces and names.

District 5′s Tribute Boy will be played by Chris Mark and District 5′s Foxface will be played by Jacqueline Emerson. Mark’s character won’t appear in the film for too long, considering his role in the book is rather short. Emerson, on the other hand, will be given a chance to really shine in this film. Hit the jump to read a bit more on these two actors and their roles in the film. Continue reading

Charles Ferguson grabbed our attention with his Oscar-winning documentary, Inside Job, which led us on a deeper look into the huge financial crisis of 2008. Now the director has plans to move from documentary to drama, as he takes on the tale of WikiLeaks and Julian Assange.
