A whole lot of new information has been coming out regarding Monsters University, the sequel/prequel to Pixar’s hit film Monsters, Inc. Dan Scanlon has been hired by Disney/Pixar to helm the film with Kori Rae acting as a producer. Scanlon has done work with Disney and Pixar before, acting as a story artist on both Toy Story 3 and Cars and he also directed the short Mater and the Ghostlight.
The story will take us back in time and follow Mike (Billy Crystal) and Sully (John Goodman) as college students where the two first meet and, despite their differences, become best friends. Monsters University was scheduled to hit theaters in 3D and 2D on November 2, 2012, but has now been pushed back all the way to June 21, 2013. We’ve also got a new logo for the film, which you can see after the jump.
