Ok, so there’s a new SLEEPING BEAUTY that will be coming out…wait, no, there will be two! Two? Really? Apparently so. Disney has begun work on MALEFICENT, which will follow the story line from the wicked witch’s perspective, and will be directed by Tim Burton. Rumors of Angelina Jolie being cast as the witch for that one have been floating around, but nothing’s set in stone. Then there’s another SLEEPING BEAUTY project in the works… only this one doesn’t even have a title yet. Actually, it doesn’t have a production company either, but that’s not stopping TRUE GRIT star Hailee Steinfeld from being cast as the beauty. The draft script by Lindsay Devlin has been making it’s way around Hollywood, and it will (supposedly) tell the story from the perspective of the sleeping “beauty,” as she travels through the dream world. More news on this as it is announced.
In an interview with our friends over at digital spy, British author Neil Gaiman announced that a film adaptation of his 2001 novel AMERICAN GODS is being made. Many of you may recognize Gaiman from his work on the infamous THE SANDMAN comic book series.
OH YEAH! The ALIEN quadrilogy IS getting a prequel (sequel?) under the title PROMETHEUS! Ridley Scott is coming back as director for the project that is being overseen by both the Brandywine production company, and (Scott’s own) Scott Free productions. This is HUGE news for the millions of die-hard ALIEN fans the world over, and there is even an entire website dedicated to releasing information about the film.
The project entered the filming stages at Pinewood Studios last Monday, March 21st, and reports coming off the set are exciting. Apparently, the ENTIRE studio lot in Toronto, Canada has been dedicated to the film. And, there has been a report of a THREE-BLOCK-HIGH SET PIECE (Spaceship)! That’s right, a spaceship that is as tall as three city blocks are long.
A huge collection of new Dark Knight posters have made their way online. While I am not sure these are all official posters, they are pretty badass looking. The only one I am skeptical about is the one with the Joker standing in front of the burning building. We just saw this poster released the other day that had Batman standing in front of the building instead.
A new ‘Iron Man’ TV has hit the net, and it still looks amazing. I am so excited for this film. May 2nd can not come soon enough! Check out the clip below.
When I was checking the web today, I came across a whole bunch of new ‘Iron Man’ photos, some of them have already been seen but swiftly removed by Paramount. We have some nice shots of Iron Man and Iron Monger, and I believe this is going to be one heck of a film! Check out all the images after the jump.
